CHECKLIST FOR ALL COACHES

Below are the steps to complete your coaching registration with Falls Rec Hockey:

PLEASE NOTE: Coaches cannot step on the ice to coach until they have completed the following:

1. USA Hockey Registration
2. Background screening
3. Safesport Training
4. Age Specific Module
5. Concussion Training

Your first level/next level Coaching Clinic training needs to be completed by December 31st or you will not be allowed on the bench after that date. MN Hockey is handing out fines and suspensions for coaches out of compliance with certifications and lack of locker room attendants.

• Register with USA Hockey, Select the COACH option 

USA Hockey Online Coach Registration 

• Log in to your: USA Hockey Learning Center: You will need your SSO login- see below to set up sso password.

TO SET UP SSO PASSWORD

1. Leave the Username blank and enter primary email address (the one listed above), click send verification code
2. Check your email to receive verification code from Microsoft; Subject: Member Services, USA Hockey Account email verification code
3. Enter the verification code, make sure there are no spaces before or after the code, click on Verify Code button, continue
4. Enter your SSO Username, continue
5. Create a password, continue
6. Congratulations, your account is now ready for use

• Background Screening (NCSI) (every 2 years) $30 Fee for domestic screens.

• Safesport Training  (1st season is Core, following seasons there is a Refresher course)

 USA Hockey Online Safesport Training 

• Age-Specific Modules. The modules are on the USA Learning Center website and are available from September 1st thru December 20th.

• Coaching Clinic- Register for your next level coaching clinic through your USA Learning Center member login. https://lms.usahockeylearningcenter.com/learn

• You have until December 31st to complete. Don't wait until the last minute! Clinics start on September 1st. You can view the clinic schedule and register online. You will not be rostered as a coach if your coaching card is expired. 

• REGISTER AS A COACH ON REC HOCKEY - see below link (Please read the USA Hockey Coaching Ethics Code and Complete the USA Hockey Coaching Ethics Code Agreement when you register as a coach prior to the start of the season (to be completed every season) 

• MN Hockey Coaches Concussion Training

Reimbursements: You may submit a coaches reimbursement form for fees incurred for required training.

Coaching Certification Requirements-USA Hockey

If you have On-Ice Helpers they will need to also register with USA Hockey, complete SafeSport and background study before any on ice activities. They will register as a volunteer in USA Hockey. They may not be on benches with kids during games.
