CHECKLIST FOR ALL COACHES

Below are the steps to complete your coaching registration with Falls Rec Hockey:

PLEASE NOTE: Coaches, you cannot step on the ice to coach until you have completed the following:

1. USA Hockey Registration
2. Background screening
3. Safesport Training
4. Age Specific Module
5. Concussion Training
6. Ethics Code
7. Coaches Conduct
8. Register with IFalls Rec Hockey
9. Submit Volunteer Info Form

Your first level/next level Coaching Clinic training needs to be completed by December 31st or you will not be allowed on the bench after that date. MN Hockey is handing out fines and suspensions for coaches out of compliance with certifications and lack of locker room attendants.

1) Register with USA Hockey, Select the COACH option 



• Log in to your: USA Hockey Learning Center: If you do not have a SSO login see below to set up. The USA Hockey Learning Center Dashboard is the central digital hub where coaches manage their annual educational requirements, certifications, and compliance.

TO SET UP SSO PASSWORD

1. Leave the Username blank and enter primary email address (the one listed above), click send verification code
2. Check your email to receive verification code from Microsoft; Subject: Member Services, USA Hockey Account email verification code
3. Enter the verification code, make sure there are no spaces before or after the code, click on Verify Code button, continue
4. Enter your SSO Username, continue
5. Create a password, continue
6. Congratulations, your account is now ready for use

2) Background Screening (NCSI) (every 2 years) $30 Fee for domestic screens.

3) Safesport Training  (You must complete SafeSport training every 12 months. The certification cycle features an initial core course followed by three shorter annual refresher courses. After the third refresher, you will be directed to retake the full core)



4) Age-Specific Modules. The modules are on the USA Learning Center website and are available from September 1st thru December 20th.

Coaching Clinic- YOU HAVE UNTIL DECEMBER 31ST TO COMPLETE THE COACHING CLINIC. Don't wait until the last minute! Clinics start on September 1st and more clinic dates get updated every few weeks. You can view the clinic schedule and register online. You will not be rostered as a coach if your coaching card is expired. 

• You need to take a USA Hockey Coaching Education Program (CEP) clinic once a year until you reach Level 3. After reaching Level 3 or higher, the frequency shifts to ongoing continuing education, with Levels 4 and 5 requiring continuing education credits every 3 to 4 years. Register for your next level coaching clinic through your USA Learning Center member login.
